Responsibilities

Berkley Luxury Group is seeking an SVP, Chief Financial Officer to act as a core member of their Senior Leadership Team has accountability for the finance function of Berkley Luxury Group.  This position is located in our Parsippany, NJ headquarters.

The SVP, CFO leads accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, expense management, cash flow, compliance, billing, and strategic financial planning to advance BLG's operating priorities and long-term financial strength. The CFO converts complex financial data into decisive business insight, reinforces financial discipline and controls, and partners with leadership to drive performance, operating efficiency, and enterprise risk management.

  • Leads the full finance function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, collections, general ledger, and cash flow management, to protect and strengthen BLG's financial position.
  • Interprets complex financial information and converts analysis into clear, actionable business insight.
  • Drives process excellence across finance and advances the use of automation, RPA, BPO, AI, and other enabling technologies where they add value.
  • Oversees BLG financial reporting and ensures compliance with statutory, regulatory, and property and casualty insurance requirements.
  • Owns the annual budget, capital allocation process, and performance monitoring against budget and operating plan.
  • Identifies cost efficiencies and optimizes spending in line with BLG's operating plan and financial objectives.
  • Partners with senior leadership on strategic planning and leads BLG's enterprise risk management strategy to identify, assess, and mitigate material exposures.
  • Partners with senior leadership to assess and manage the financial impact of reinsurance transactions and related decisions.
  • Builds and develops a high-performing team and fosters a culture of accountability, ownership, and innovation.
  • Serves as a strategic advisor to the Senior Leadership Team and communicates financial performance and implications with clarity and credibility to key stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance
  • MBA and/or CPA desirable
  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, preferably in the property and casualty insurance industry.
  • Deep expertise across finance operations, including accounting, financial reporting, planning and analysis, budgeting, cash flow, billing, collections, and expense management.
  • Strong command of statutory and GAAP insurance reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal control disciplines.
  • Demonstrated success improving finance processes and deploying automation, RPA, BPO, AI, or similar technologies to increase efficiency and control.
  • Experience leading annual budgeting, capital allocation, performance management, and cost optimization.
  • Strong strategic and analytical judgment, with the ability to translate complex financial and business issues into practical recommendations.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise risk management and the ability to evaluate and mitigate broad financial and operational exposures.
  • Experience supporting reinsurance or comparable financial transactions and assessing their financial impact is preferred.
  • Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent while building a culture of accountability, trust, and innovation.
  • Executive-level communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership, the WRB CFO, executives, and board-level stakeholders.
  • Strong systems acumen, including advanced Excel and experience with enterprise financial platforms; Oracle and PeopleSoft preferred.
  • Ability to operate effectively across all levels of the organization, manage multiple priorities, and travel as needed.
