Responsibilities  

  • Evaluate customer requests to determine if items are of Smalley manufacture.  

  • Demonstrates understanding of retaining ring and wave-spring concepts and can design applications required for product design.  

  • Provide phone support to customers.  

  • Investigates customer application design requirements to verify/provide optimal product recommendations and works with manufacturing to determine effective processes, including lead time, tooling, packaging, etc.  

  • Provides a detailed outline of customer requirements and signs-offs (initial for approval) for most designs.  

  • Demonstrates ability to interpret customer-specific specifications, such as quality specifications, materials, finishes, etc.  

  • Provide input on cost optimization and analyze lead time requirements.  

  • Contacts customer and provides quotation information and/or determines action on quotation, when applicable  

  • Provides an explanation of design concepts for Drafting and Manufacturing to help with tolerance, part drawing, part layout, and design-specific notation.  

  • Investigates, analyzes, recommends, and authorizes design changes for Smalley products.  

  • Performs cycle testing, and installation testing and recommends possible alternatives.  

  • Attends trade shows to assist Marketing and Sales with customer interactions. 

  • Ability to speak, read, and write Mandarin fluently 

  • Completed Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Engineering from an accredited four-year institution.  

  • Proficient understanding of mechanical applications showcased. 

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with both internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced work environment. 

  • Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $70,000 to $95,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. This role is bonus/and or incentive eligible.
