Robotic Process Automation Consulting information

What is robotic process automation consulting?

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) consulting involves advising organizations on how to implement software robots to automate repetitive, rule-based tasks. RPA consultants assess business processes, identify automation opportunities, and guide the selection and deployment of RPA tools. They help design, develop, and optimize automated workflows, ensuring efficient integration with existing systems. The goal of RPA consulting is to improve productivity, reduce errors, and lower operational costs through digital transformation.

What are the typical challenges faced by robotic process automation consultants during client implementations?

RPA consultants often encounter challenges such as managing stakeholder expectations, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems, and accurately identifying processes that are suitable for automation. Additionally, handling resistance to change within client organizations and maintaining data security during automation are common concerns. Successful consultants proactively communicate with clients, provide training, and use structured methodologies to mitigate these issues, ensuring a smooth RPA implementation.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a robotic process automation consultant, and why are they important?

To thrive as an RPA Consultant, you need a strong background in process analysis, automation design, and programming, often supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with RPA platforms like UiPath, Blue Prism, or Automation Anywhere, along with certifications from these vendors, is typically required. Excellent problem-solving skills, stakeholder communication, and the ability to manage change effectively are crucial soft skills. These competencies enable RPA Consultants to design, implement, and optimize automation solutions that drive efficiency and digital transformation for organizations.

How to become a Robotic Process Automation Consulting?

To become a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) consultant, individuals typically need a background in computer science, information technology, or related fields, along with experience in process analysis and automation tools like UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Blue Prism. Gaining certifications in RPA platforms and developing skills in scripting, workflow design, and business process management can enhance job prospects. Practical experience through internships or project work is also valuable for entering the field.

Is robotic process automation consulting still in demand?

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) consulting remains in high demand as organizations seek to improve efficiency and reduce costs through automation. RPA consultants with skills in tools like UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Blue Prism are increasingly sought after across various industries, and the field is expected to grow as digital transformation accelerates.

What does a Robotic Process Automation Consulting do?

A Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Consulting professional analyzes business processes to identify tasks suitable for automation, then designs, develops, and implements RPA solutions using tools like UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Blue Prism. They also provide process optimization advice, ensure automation aligns with organizational goals, and may support ongoing maintenance and updates of automation workflows.

Job description

Position Title: Product Owner - Power Platform, Dynamics 365 & Tenant Migration
Location: Hybrid in Atlanta, GA
Position Status: Contract
Position Description:
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead a strategic divestiture and tenant separation initiative focused on Power Platform, Dynamics 365, and legacy automation modernization. This role will drive discovery, migration planning, backlog ownership, and delivery execution as we transition to a fully independent and modernized Microsoft ecosystem.
This is a highly visible role that combines Product Ownership, Power Platform modernization, Dynamics 365 tenant migration (T2T), business process automation, and stakeholder leadership. You will partner closely with business leaders, technical teams, and implementation partners to deliver a successful go-live while minimizing business disruption.
Approximately 70% of the role will focus on migrating legacy automation solutions (Nintex, Blue Prism, Kofax) to the Microsoft Power Platform, while 30% will support Dynamics 365 and Power Platform tenant-to-tenant migration and platform separation activities.
What You'll Do
Product Ownership & Delivery Leadership
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog for automation modernization and tenant migration initiatives.
  • Lead requirements discovery, scope definition, backlog refinement, and sprint planning activities.
  • Translate business requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and actionable delivery plans.
  • Partner with development, architecture, and platform teams to ensure successful delivery through go-live.
  • Drive prioritization decisions based on business value, risk, dependencies, and implementation timelines.

Power Platform & Dynamics 365 Migration
  • Support enterprise-wide Dynamics 365 and Power Platform tenant-to-tenant (T2T) migration efforts.
  • Coordinate migration activities across business and technical teams to ensure successful solution transition.
  • Validate migrated applications, workflows, integrations, security roles, and data integrity.
  • Identify and manage cross-functional dependencies, risks, and migration readiness activities.
  • Ensure business continuity throughout platform separation and post-migration stabilization.

Automation Modernization & Legacy Platform Replacement
  • Lead discovery and assessment of existing Nintex, Blue Prism, Kofax, and other workflow/RPA solutions.
  • Document current-state processes, integrations, technical dependencies, and business requirements.
  • Define migration strategies for automations being converted to Power Automate, Power Apps, and other Power Platform capabilities.
  • Evaluate which automations should be migrated, redesigned, optimized, or retired.
  • Partner with architects and technical teams to design modernized automation solutions that improve efficiency and scalability.

Stakeholder & Program Management
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, product teams, delivery partners, and executive leadership.
  • Facilitate discovery workshops, requirements sessions, and solution reviews.
  • Proactively identify risks, resolve blockers, and communicate project status to key stakeholders.
  • Support change management, user adoption, and go-live readiness activities.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst Lead, or related delivery leadership role.
  • Hands-on experience working within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem, including:
    • Power Automate
    • Power Apps
    • Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC)
    • Solution management and environments
    • Connectors and integrations
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Experience leading requirements gathering, backlog management, discovery workshops, and Agile delivery.
  • Ability to translate complex business processes into technical requirements and scalable solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting tenant-to-tenant (T2T) migrations, divestitures, carve-outs, mergers, acquisitions, or platform separation initiatives.
  • Experience migrating legacy workflow or RPA platforms such as:
    • Nintex
    • Blue Prism
    • Kofax
    • UiPath
    • Automation Anywhere
  • Experience with Power Platform governance, administration, and migration tooling.
  • Familiarity with:
    • Microsoft Azure
    • Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
    • Role-based access control (RBAC)
    • PowerShell
    • Power Platform CLI (PAC CLI)
  • Experience supporting enterprise ERP and HR systems such as PeopleSoft, Workday, or similar platforms.
