Job description

Location: Arlington, VA Salary: $70.00 USD Hourly - $85.00 USD Hourly Description: Title: UAS Ground Control Engineer
Type: Contract - 6+ months
Location: Crystal City, VA - Hybrid
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing autonomous robotic behaviors, including path planning, localization, guidance, state estimation, and distributed or multi-agent coordination
  • Experience developing, testing, benchmarking, and deploying autonomy software and algorithms using robotics middleware such as ROS or ROS2 and/or simulation environments
  • Experience working with uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS), including flight control systems, mission systems, and ground control systems
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience; 5+ years preferred
  • Professional software development experience using Python and C++ with modern software design principles and patterns
  • Experience with Conan and/or Nix for software dependency management and development environment configuration
  • Experience working in Linux-based development environments
  • Experience with source control systems, build automation tools, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing methodologies, and code quality standards
