POSITION GOALS:
Provide continuous supervision and necessary expertise to design and maintain all Information Technology infrastructures within the Owen J. Roberts School District.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Directly supervises the System Administrator(s) and leads all network and cybersecurity operations for the district, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing infrastructure.
  2. Manage, configure, and document network services (IP subnetting, DHCP, DNS, WINS).
  3. Manage, configure, and document network security, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and network fault tolerance.
  4. Design, implement, and maintain district-wide cybersecurity measures, including threat monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, and security best practices.
  5. Install, configure, and document all networking hardware and software (Cisco experience preferred).
  6. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues, including connectivity, access, and performance.
  7. Oversee third-party vendors and service providers related to networking and cybersecurity.
  8. Assist with district-wide intranet and internet communication systems hardware and software.
  9. Maintain phones, VoIP systems, data communications, and networking equipment.
  10. Support and maintain server infrastructure as it relates to network services, including Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Google Admin, Virtual environments and SAN.
  11. On call 24/7 for all network, technology or infrastructure emergencies

QUALIFICATIONS:
To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill, and/or ability necessary.
  1. Associate's degree with emphasis on Technology or related field with 5 years' experience in Information Technology departments or consulting preferred; or the equivalent combination of education and experience that allows employee to successfully perform job duties.
  2. Must demonstrate an above average knowledge of networking concepts, including but not limited to, TCP/IP, OSI model, network switching, routing, network security, wireless infrastructure management and fault tolerance.
  3. Must demonstrate an above average knowledge of Windows Server and Advanced Server functions and features.
  4. Should have knowledge of Microsoft products/concepts, telecommunications and routing products/concepts, and network products/concepts.
  5. Must demonstrate an above average ability to troubleshoot network and connectivity problems.
  6. Must be well organized and have above average written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Submission of PA School Personnel Health form.
  8. Current Act 34, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  1. 12 months.
