What You'll Do

As a Labor & Birth RN, you'll utilize the nursing process to provide exceptional care for mothers, infants, and families through every stage of the childbirth experience.

Clinical Excellence

  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care
  • Monitor and manage laboring and high-risk patients
  • Recognize and respond to emergent situations
  • Utilize evidence-based practice to guide patient care
  • Advocate for mothers, babies, and families
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams

Critical Thinking & Leadership

  • Manage complex patient assignments
  • Independently evaluate changing patient conditions
  • Lead and respond effectively during emergencies
  • Serve as a clinical resource for peers
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives

Patient & Family Education

  • Provide individualized education based on patient needs
  • Support families throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum care
  • Promote positive outcomes through effective teaching and communication

Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (expected)
  • Current RN License (or Compact License)
  • BLS Certification (AHA)

Additional Certifications

  • NRP Required
  • ACLS Required
  • Intermediate Fetal Heart Rate Training Provided for Labor RNs
