Job Description:
This role requires a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in an acute care setting. The nurse will provide care for patients in Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery, with responsibilities that include monitoring and assessing patients following surgery.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring safe recovery post-surgery.
  • Assist with lunch relief but do not take assignments as a charge nurse.
  • Operate respiratory therapy equipment such as vents, Cpap, and BiPap.
  • Read cardiac and other vital sign strips for monitoring patient conditions.
  • Respond to on-call requirements with a 1-hour response time.
Requirements:
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Experience in Emergency Department (ED) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings.
  • Familiarity with EPIC charting system.
  • Willingness to float as needed and adhere to dress code with hospital-provided scrubs.
