Job description

RMS Crane & Rigging

Position: Crane Shop /Field Mechanic

Location: Denver

Reports to: Service Manager

RMS is offering our employees a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package which include health benefits, paid vacation, and 401k Match. We are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.

Pay: $27.00- $45.00 per hour depending on experience, qualifications and certifications held.

 Summary: RMS Crane and Rigging. is currently seeking a full-time experienced Crane Mechanic to help maintain our fleet. The mechanic will perform maintenance, inspections and repairs on cranes, trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other various equipment. Follows all State and Federal laws while operating motor vehicles. Follows all safety and environmental policies while performing job tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Supply your own tools.
  • Ability to work independently and take direction when necessary.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of: Engines, Power train to include differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, PTO's and wheel ends, Electrical systems, Hydraulic systems, HVAC systems, Steering systems, Engine bolt on items such as turbos, fan clutches, injectors, cooling system etc., Brake systems including ABS, Suspension systems (spring and air)
  • Perform all levels of preventative maintenance services on heavy equipment, Semi trucks, passenger trucks, trailers and equipment.
  • Prepares inspection reports (including FMSCA (DOT) and OSHA/ANSI Crane Annual Inspections.
  • Demonstrate a good appearance, professional manner and always follow all safety guidelines.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, Electrical/hydraulic schematics, and pressure gauges.

 Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • At Least (2) Year experience as a crane, heavy equipment or trucking mechanic is a plus.
  • Must pass a drug and a background check.
  • A personal set of tools is required.
  • The ability to lift 50+ pounds though out the day is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required - current CDL license with air brake certification is preferred.
  • A Clean MVR.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred for data entry into maintenance systems.
  • Regular, predictable, and full attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends and out of state when needed.
  • Job Type: Full-time 40+ Hrs.
