STARTING SALARYย  RANGEย  ย $17.15-$19.88/Hour DOQ/DOE

$.50/hr additional pay for bi-lingual staff (assessment required)

Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties is committed to empowering all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. We provide a broad range of programs and activities focused on four priority outcomes: Academic Success, Health & Well-Being, Character & Leadership, and Life & Workforce Readiness. Founded in 1995, Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties now serves more than 4,000 youth each year at 30 Club locations throughout Benton and Franklin Counties.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Site Coordinator, the Youth Development Professional is responsible for creating and helping implement a variety of programs in the areas of the Arts, Health and Life Skills, Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, and Sports, Fitness, and Recreation.ย  Youth Development Professionals visibly enjoy working with children and create an environment that is safe and fun while helping members build confidence and skills. The Youth Development Professional fosters positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community members.

job functions

  • Plans and implements activities for youth that give them a sense of belonging, usefulness, influence, and competence utilizing existing curriculum from Boys & Girls Clubs of America in addition to local initiatives.
  • Works with the Site Coordinator to set up community relationships which benefit the Club and its members.
  • Establishes a program setting that ensures the health and safety of members.
  • Promotes and markets programs to Club members.
  • Ensure that all licensing regulations are being followed.
  • Contributes to the creation of the Clubโ€™s overall climate for youth development and success.
  • Outreach and recruitment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • ย 18 years of age or older.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to remain poised, positive, and energetic in a busy work environment.
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems.
  • High school education or higher
  • Previous experience working with youth preferred.
  • ย CPR/First Aid Card (preferred).
  • MMR Vaccination or Medical/Religious Exemption
  • Be able to lift 40lbs.
