Instrumentation & Electrical Superintendent

About the Opportunity
We are looking for an Instrumentation & Electrical Superintendent to lead the IE team. This role is key to maximizing the value of our operations and leading the safety culture.
This role is a great opportunity for a self-motivated leader to learn and develop their career while focusing on safe operations and execution to improve the team's performance. Reporting to the Refinery Services Manager, you will be:
  • Leading and developing a team of front-line supervisors and a crew of 40 craftspeople
  • Identifying and acting on opportunities to increase value generation
  • Interacting with our technical specialists to bring additional expertise to bear when required and to drive operational performance
  • Building and maintaining an effective and safety-first culture.
  • Coaching people and providing development opportunities that enable high performance
  • Taking ownership of efficient/effective problem-solving, decision-making, and action at the right levels
  • Instilling a culture of employee ownership in facility care and operation

What you'll bring:
A combination of both technical skills and experience will be genuinely considered
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or a related field
  • Supervision/Operations experience in heavy industrial, manufacturing, and mining environments
  • Leadership experience in a fast-paced and exciting environment
  • Ability to work in multi-functional and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to manage the team.

  • Strong Knowledge in electricity and instrumentation
  • Experience with control systems (PLC, HMI, Drives, and SCADA systems)
  • Ability to work towards continuous improvement and team performance

Soft Skills
  • Ability to articulate and translate the technical side to personnel at all levels
  • Leadership, autonomy, flexibility, decisiveness, and communication
