Elevate Your Career in Broadcast Technology | Full-Time Broadcast Engineer | Fort Myers Broadcasting
Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for broadcast systems and a drive to make an impact? Fort Myers Broadcasting is seeking a Full-Time Broadcast Engineer to join our forward-thinking engineering team. This isn’t just a maintenance role — it’s a vital, hands-on position at the heart of live television, supporting the systems that keep our newsroom and on-air programming running smoothly and reliably.
Why Fort Myers Broadcasting?
We’re a legacy station with a mission to innovate. You'll work side-by-side with a collaborative team across departments — from news and production to IT and operations — where your expertise will directly contribute to the delivery of trusted news and high-quality broadcasting to our community. If you’re looking for a meaningful role with real impact, we want to meet you.

What You’ll Do
As a Broadcast Engineer, you'll help maintain and troubleshoot the essential systems that power our operations, from newsroom workstations to studio automation and transmission equipment. You’ll be a key player in ensuring our broadcasts are delivered on time and at the highest quality.
Core Responsibilities
  • Maintain and troubleshoot computers, servers, and broadcast-related systems
  • Support users across news, production, and business units with hardware/software issues
  • Ensure smooth transmission and operation of all live and recorded broadcasts
  • Perform preventative maintenance, equipment installations, and emergency repairs
  • Provide hands-on support during breaking news, severe weather, and system upgrades
  • Assist in engineering projects and station-wide technical initiatives
  • Maintain thorough documentation of system changes and problem resolution

What You Bring
  • 2–3 years of broadcast or professional engineering experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent certification/experience
  • Familiarity with Windows OS, server and desktop environments, and networking/IP systems
  • Hands-on experience with broadcast equipment and transmission systems
  • Ability to stay calm and effective under pressure in live production environments
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call during critical events

Nice to Have
  • Experience with transmitters and RF systems
  • Knowledge of video photography equipment and production workflows
  • Leadership capabilities and a solution-focused mindset
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit or work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Clear verbal and written communication in person, by phone, and via video.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual and auditory ability to operate standard office, recording, and production equipment.
  • Ability to traverse the workspace, including driving to other properties as needed.
Benefits:
Full-time new hires: Eligible to participate in all Company benefit plans, including:
  • Health, Dental, Vision, and HSA (effective 1st of the month after 30 days; subject to plan terms)
  • Company-paid life insurance and EAP; voluntary short-term disability
  • PTO (accrual-based) and company-paid holidays
  • 401(k)
