Job description

Rice Emergency Room, located in Rice Village, is looking for high-energy, self-motivated, passionate RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGISTs who are committed to delivering high quality care in a free-standing Emergency Room setting. The position available includes PRN-NIGHT opportunities.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The Radiology Technologist performs computerized tomography (CT) and radiology exams to produce diagnostic radiographs (X-Rays) and scans of body for diagnosis of medical issues as directed by the designated physician.

  • Must be able to accurately interpret and execute physician image/scanning instructions, physician orders, safely administer contrasts materials, prepare and operate the computerized tomography (CT) scanning equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.
  • Maintains current knowledge of diagnostic procedures performed in the radiology department for both computerized tomography (CT) and x-rays.
  • Remains flexible relative to changing staffing patterns; participates in temporary assignments; regular attendance; compliance with attendance standards; regularly attends required staff meetings. Demonstrates flexibility when changes in assignments are necessary.
  • Radiology Technologists are expected to perform tasks and duties outside of what may be viewed as traditional assignments for Radiology Technologist. Measures temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs and reports findings to the RN, performs laboratory testing and quality controls, obtains lab samples from patients, and performs IV starts and EKGs.
  • Maintains order and assist routinely with the general maintenance and cleanliness of facility including but not limited to sanitizing patient care areas, making beds and maintaining a safe work environment.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years recent CT and x-ray experience in a clinical setting;
  • Maintain skills and knowledge in the advancement of techniques, and protocols;
  • Working knowledge and experience with CT and related equipment;
  • Working knowledge of X-ray and related equipment

Certifications & Licenses:

  • Current ARRT License
  • Texas Medical Board
  • CT National Registry preferred
  • AHA BLS/Health Care Providers CPR
