Summary
The RF Test Development Engineer designs, develops and implements test solutions for product manufacturing and design verification, to ensure robust and high quality production of RF electronic assemblies.
This role will focus on Celestica's RF testing infrastructure, including advancing test platforms to support products up to 50GHz and primarily serving our Aerospace and Defense customers.
The role requires establishing test strategies and architecting test solutions based on product design specifications and production test requirements.
The position is part of a global engineering services organization, with local leadership and integration with an expansive network of test development engineers.
Activity will include direct onsite development and delivery, and support of project opportunities connected to the extended network of global sites.
Experience with the relevant product technologies and development processes in the Aerospace and Defense segment are an important asset.
Celestica's broad customer base will also provide opportunities to lead or support test development projects for customers in other end markets such as Industrial, Smart Energy, and Healthtech.
Detailed Description
The person in this role will be viewed as an RF test expert (go to person) helping set and deploy technical standards related to RF test development processes, tools and skills. They will be focused on establishing more advanced high frequency RF testing capability. They will own the hardware and software architecture for an RF testing platform capable of supporting products up to 50GHz. This role will provide technical leadership (partnered with a project management office) to develop production test solutions supporting Celestica design and manufacturing customers.
This team member is part of a global design and development engineering organization, and they will interface regularly with other local and regional teams to deliver best-in-class engineering solutions.
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
  • Lead the development of production test solutions, including strategic planning, design and implementation
  • Create test development proposals based on production test requirements, considering resource needs (people and equipment) and estimating execution scope (cost and schedule)
  • Provides technical leadership and direction to a team of support engineers, both local and remote
  • Provides input to non-technical elements of an engineering project, including project resourcing, financial estimates and scheduling
  • Review and interpret product design requirements/specifications and develop production test strategies
  • Act as primary customer technical contact
  • Analyze tradeoffs in complex test systems and recommend solutions
  • Coordinate site and network-wide deployment efforts
  • Manage relationships with certain key vendors/partners.
  • Contribute to short term and long term investment and skill development strategies and business cases with global impact to organization
  • Complete test development solution support including hardware & software elements, system integration, qualification, and installation to meet product, quality and test requirements outlined in the test plan
  • Debug of tester issues using design of experiments, tools, and failure analysis methodologies

Salary Expectation and Benefits Summary
The salary range described in this posting is an estimate by the Company, and may change based on several factors, including by not limited to a change in the duties covered by the job posting, or the credentials, experience or geographic jurisdiction of the successful candidate. Salary Range: $118k-150k Annually
