Summary

FIRST RF is seeking a highly organized and technically driven Project Manager to lead complex programs for both defense and commercial applications. In this role, you will oversee projects from concept through delivery, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, engineering milestones, security standards, and cost/schedule objectives. You will serve as the primary interface between internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers driving program execution, mitigating risks, and ensuring critical solutions are delivered with excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a result-oriented mindset, and a solid technical background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a project leader and drive consistent, organized processes
  • Facilitate communication among production, engineering, quality, management, suppliers and customers
  • Collaborate with all teams to ensure that project goals and deliverables meet FIRST RF quality standards
  • Assess, monitor, document, and communicate on project scope and status, risks and key learnings to project stakeholders
  • Construct and control project plans and budgets that help teams drive key decision points 
  • Ensure all team members understand their roles and are held accountable for meeting commitments
  • Identify, track, manage, and resolve project issues
  • Capture and document project-related business, functional and creative information during the project lifecycle
  • Drive change management processes, manage stakeholder expectations, communicate impact, and execute changes if applicable
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the projects and related contractual, technical, and quality documentation

Required Education and Experience

  • Must have U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
  • Must currently live in, or near, Boulder, Colorado or be willing to relocate
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • Relevant experience in technical leadership or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to identify, technical, cost, and schedule risks/opportunities and to engage technical support appropriately
  • Must have U.S. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including creating and delivering presentations
  • A capacity to thrive in a self-motivated environment that has few boundaries and at-times conflicting priorities
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills and a detail-oriented problem-solving approach
  • A desire to find, explore, and solve new and challenging problems

Preferred Education and Experience

  • A proven capacity to contribute to multidisciplinary engineering projects
  • Experience in R&D and FAR/DFAR proposal activities and development to customer requirements
  • Experience with government contracts

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week.  Typical office hours include Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, however these hours will vary based on workload and the manager’s discretion.  This job may require more than 40 hours of work per week as the need arises.
