Our team and what we'll accomplish together

TELUS is seeking an In-Building RF Engineer to design and optimize our next-generation indoor distributed antenna systems (DAS). You will deliver world-class high capacity systems and complex indoor connectivity solutions. You will also drive innovation by leading automation initiatives to streamline complex in-building studies and analysis.

What you'll do:

  • Design and optimize our next-generation Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), including small-cells and multi-operator systems
  • Deliver high quality indoor RF design by selecting optimal solutions and equipment while considering capacity requirements, building layout, and macro network interaction
  • Analyze indoor coverage and propagation using industry-standard RF design and analysis tools
  • Manage inter-regional projects from conception through deployment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Capacity Engineers, Performance Engineers, Macro design Engineers, RF field analysts)
  • Lead automation initiatives for complex in-building RF studies and analysis, leveraging advanced scripting and AI-driven solutions
Qualifications

What you bring:

  • Bachelor in Electrical Engineering, member (or in process) of a Canadian professional engineering order
  • Experience in indoor RF design and optimization; including site acquisition policies
  • Proficiency with iBWave in-building planning tool and industry standard RF analysis software
  • Deep understanding of current and emerging RAN technologies, RF propagation SINR, link budget calculation, uplink noise management
  • Strong programming and databases skills, with demonstrated knowledge of AI automation applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work efficiently in a team
  • Strong leadership and project management skills; ability to drive engineering projects autonomously
  • English written and spoken communication skills (French & English for Quebec positions)

Location: Any major Canadian city

Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope.
