Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled andย detail-oriented Quality Product Engineer specializing in Electrical and Electronics to join our dynamic manufacturing team.


Location:ย Chicago, ILย - 100% on site. No hybrid or remote.

Long term contract!

Day shift: 8:00am - 4:30pm (CENTRAL)

Compensation:ย Up to $36.70/hour + Benefits (insurance, PTO, paid holidays)


OVERVIEW

  • Responsible for the complete electrical system of the vehicle including both module software & the electrical distribution system
  • Lead resolution of design and quality issuesย by properly defining the issues and determining initial root cause of concern (design/supplier/manufacturing).
  • Lead resolution with the proper skill team after root cause is identified to ensure containment activity is taken to protect our customers


REQUIREMENT

  • Skills Required: Systems Engineering โ€“ 1-2 years of experience
  • Skills Preferred: Electrical Wiring
  • Experience Required: System engineering, root cause analysis, quality improvement, low voltage wiring
  • Experience Preferred: Functional knowledge of vehicle electrical system or functional knowledge of vehicle wiring
  • Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Education Preferred: Master's Degree


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Support daily warranty claim binning, triaging incoming claims, and prioritizing containment actions based on claim count & priority ranking
  • Support manage the change process for Engineering Issues:
  • Coordinating plant trials, leading manage the change sign off process, ensuring the manufacturing plant is ready to incorporate design changes
  • Support error proofing systems identifying resolution for both internal & external issues
  • Attend VRT sub-system meetings, working with supporting skill teams to resolve quality & design issues
  • Review internal end of line electrical issues, triaging DTCโ€™s, developing workplans to resolve
  • Leverage quality systems to identify customer issues based on DTC information
  • Lead design resolution of low voltage EDS issues -Review pre-production vehicles for potential campaign items and assess warranty impact
  • Participate in vehicle builds and led resolution of issues (AIMS/JIRA)
  • Develop roadmap to eliminate high hurt internal/external issues.
