General Summary:
In this role, the Hardware engineer is mainly responsible for collaborating with cross functional global engineering teams to ensure the overall design and implementation of RF hardware enabling product characterization and semiconductor device testing.
Job responsibilities include:
  • Working Closely with cross functional team including mechanical, CAD, Component engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Power and Signal Integrity Analysis and PTE.
  • Design and debug of test interface hardware, schematic capture, oversee layout, and release test hardware into volume production.
  • Experience with Signal/ Power integrity 2.5D/3D EDA tools (Cadence Sigrity, Ansys 3D, ADS). This includes PCB extractions, optimizations and End-End simulation for overall performance.
  • Experience in Mentor PADs Logic and PADs Layout, DxDesigner and Expedition is desirable but not essential.
  • Conduct and document design reviews to meet strict product development schedules.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding and ability to apply electrical engineering concepts and circuit solving skills.
  • Able to work with common test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, logic analyzer, network analyzer, etc.), ATE test platforms (Teradyne UFLEX, Advantest 93K) and handlers/probers.
  • Knowledge in RF/ RFFE with preference in mmWave, mixed-signal, or analog PCB design including CAD interface
  • Experience in high layer count multilayer boards and sockets/connectors and Component selection preferred.
  • Specific experience in designing boards for ATE testers a plus.
  • SI/PI Measurement to simulation correlation experience is plus.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus minimum 2 years of Hardware Engineering experience

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
