Overview

The RF Engineer, Senior is responsible for the design, development, integration, testing, and evaluation of advanced RF and microwave systems supporting sensor, seeker, and signal generation applications.
Responsibilities
Support the characterization, analysis, and development of advanced RF signal generation systems for aerospace, defense, and sensor applications.
Design, develop, and evaluate RF and microwave systems, subsystems, and hardware components supporting RF sensor and seeker technologies.
Perform RF system analysis, modeling, prototyping, integration, and testing throughout the product development lifecycle.
Develop and validate RF hardware designs including transmitters, receivers, frequency conversion circuits, filters, amplifiers, oscillators, and antenna-related components.
Conduct laboratory and field testing of RF/microwave hardware and systems to verify performance against design requirements.
Utilize RF test equipment including Vector Network Analyzers (VNA), Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Power Meters, Oscilloscopes, and related instrumentation.
Perform antenna and system characterization testing in anechoic chamber environments.
Collect, reduce, and analyze test data to assess system performance, identify deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
Compare measured performance data against theoretical predictions, simulation results, and system requirements.
Troubleshoot RF hardware, test setups, and system integration issues to identify root causes and implement solutions.
Support system integration activities with multidisciplinary engineering teams including systems, software, mechanical, and test engineers.
Prepare technical reports, test plans, procedures, engineering analyses, and customer presentations.
Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations to improve system performance and reliability.
Support field demonstrations, customer evaluations, and government test events as required.
Maintain compliance with applicable industry standards, customer requirements, and security protocols.

Minimum Qualifications & Education Requirements and Desired Skillsets
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in RF, microwave, radar, electronic warfare, communications, or related RF engineering fields.
Comprehensive knowledge of RF and microwave theory, components, circuits, and system architectures.
Experience designing, developing, testing, and integrating RF/microwave systems and hardware.
Proficiency in RF laboratory testing and measurement techniques.
Experience using RF test equipment including Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes, and Power Meters.
Experience analyzing RF performance parameters such as gain, noise figure, dynamic range, sensitivity, linearity, phase noise, and frequency response.
Ability to interpret test data, identify performance issues, and develop effective engineering solutions.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in laboratory, manufacturing, and field test environments.
U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Security clearance and ability to maintain the designated security clearance level is required.
Physical Description
Employees in these positions will function in a general office/cubicle setting environment, and laboratory/testing setting using standard office equipment and various electronic testing equipment, including a computer, telephone, printers, video equipment, computer software, and testing equipment. Will interact in a general office setting environment with various personnel; participate in meetings and contribute to team success; deliver timely results and produce reports; receive and communicate information; may include telework. May function in a specialized laboratory/testing environment using electronic testing equipment, computer software, and complex systems. May move and test equipment of various weights. Laboratory environment may require use of protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to safety glasses and protective hearing and footwear. May be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization due to business demands; travel occasionally for assigned work.
