Job description

We are seeking a Revit / BIM (Building Information Modeling) Technician to join our high-volume residential drafting team in Edmonton. In this role, you will develop accurate 3D models and detailed construction documentation for single-family and multi-family homes while ensuring compliance with building codes and municipal guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Model & Plan Production: Maintain master Revit model templates and standard floor plans drawings files for use by other team members. 
  • Permit & Working Drawings: Prepare construction drawings and permit packages 
  • Code & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all drawings are building code, local zoning bylaws, and developer architectural control compliant.
  • Cross-Discipline Coordination: Work closely with estimating, structural engineers, construction managers, and trade partners to resolve clash detection and ensure field buildability.
  • Library & Workflow Optimization: Continually update parametric family libraries, standard construction details, and BIM workflows to maximize drawing speed and material takeoff accuracy.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Education: Diploma in Architectural Technology (NAIT or equivalent recognized institution).
  • Experience: 5 years of drafting experience in wood-frame residential construction, preferably with a volume home builder.
  • Software Proficiency: High-level mastery of Autodesk Revit.
  • Regional Expertise: Deep understanding of residential wood frame construction practices.
  • Core Competencies: Sharp eye for structural detailing, strong time management during high-turnaround production cycles, and effective cross-team communication.
