Position Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • An active Virginia Registered Nurse license
  • At least one year of recent ICU or Telemetry experience within the last two years
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • A current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test completed within the past 12 months
  • COVID-19 vaccination or an approved medical or religious exemption

Additional credentials may be necessary depending on the specialty and facility assignment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, high-quality care in an acute-care hospital environment
  • Assess, monitor, and document patients' conditions and treatment responses
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as per physician orders
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and specialized equipment as needed
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
  • Adhere to hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety protocols
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
