Job Description
Mathnasium Learning Center is searching for energetic, dedicated and passionate math educators/tutors to work with elementary, middle, and high school level students on various math concepts on-site at our learning center in West Bloomfield, Bloomfield Twp, & Commerce Twp. Instructors will be provided with a student's learning plan and associated Mathnasium curriculum for use during the sessions. The position promises a rewarding experience with students who are eager to learn.
Each learning center has its own specific open hours for both in-center and online sessions. The hours during the school year typically start at 3:30PM until 8PM during the week and 10:30AM - 2PM on weekends. During the summer, the hours are slightly different and can be reviewed during the interview process. Instructor scheduling is flexible as candidates can provide preferences.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Appropriate educational background (i.e. college student studying math/math education/or technical field, current or retired teacher with math-related teaching experience, a college graduate with a degree in a math-related field, exceptional high school student entering Junior or Senior year with strong math background and has completed Algebra 2 with Trig.)
- Able to teach in a small group setting (Student to Instructor Ratio - 3:1)
- Able to pass a math literacy exam and background check
- Excellent organization/planning skills and can function with minimal direction
- Committed, reliable, and passionate about working with kids from elementary to high school level.
- Able to tutor high school level math is a plus.
- Experience working with special needs students is a plus.
