Job description

Title: Manager of Retail Systems

Location: Chicago, IL Onsite with up to 25% travel

Salary Range: $110000 – $140000 / Year + Benefits

Benefits: Health, Dental, 401K and more

A rapidly growing omnichannel retailer is seeking a hands-on Manager to lead IT operations across a national store footprint. This is a high-impact role where you will own the technology that keeps stores running—POS systems, networking, and all in-store infrastructure.

This is not a sit-back leadership role. You’ll be in the trenches solving real problems while also driving strategy and scaling operations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own uptime and performance of store technology across 30+ locations
  • Lead IT setup for new store openings (networking, POS, hardware, vendors)
  • Manage multi-site networks (WAN/LAN/Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, firewalls)
  • Act as escalation point for critical store outages and issues
  • Partner with vendors, ISPs, and field technicians to deliver results
  • Improve processes, reduce downtime, and enhance store experience

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years supporting multi-site retail, restaurant, or distributed environments
  • Strong experience with POS systems and networking fundamentals
  • Proven ability to execute and troubleshoot in real-world environments
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and business teams
  • Willingness to travel (25–35%) and be onsite
