Aquent is thrilled to partner with a leading multi-brand specialty retailer in the home furnishings space, an organization renowned for crafting exceptional retail experiences that deeply resonate with customers. This company stands at the forefront of bringing innovative store concepts to life, from exciting new openings and transformative remodels to strategic relocations and dynamic fixture rollouts across its diverse portfolio of brands. As a pivotal member of their Store Development team, you will be instrumental in ensuring the flawless execution of these projects, directly shaping the brand's physical presence and enhancing customer engagement.
Are you driven by the intricate process of transforming a vision into a tangible retail space? Do you excel at bringing order to complex projects and meticulously managing every detail? This is an extraordinary opportunity to join a dynamic team where your organizational prowess and collaborative spirit will be essential in orchestrating the development of stunning retail environments. You won't just be supporting projects; you'll be the central coordinator, the project air traffic controller, ensuring every initiative lands successfully and on time, thereby shaping the future of retail for a beloved brand.
Your Impact
In this critical role, you will be the linchpin connecting design, construction, and real estate teams, ensuring that every new store opening, remodel, or strategic relocation unfolds seamlessly. Your meticulous coordination and proactive problem-solving will directly contribute to creating inspiring physical spaces that captivate customers and strengthen the brand's market presence. You will play a vital part in maintaining project momentum, mitigating risks, and ultimately delivering exceptional retail environments that reflect the company's vision and dedication to quality.
What You'll Do
  • Track project timelines, milestones, updates, and approvals across a high volume of active store projects, maintaining clear visibility and progress.
  • Maintain and organize critical project documentation, including floor plans, drawings, and design files, ensuring easy access, version control, and compliance.
  • Support permit and approval processes by diligently tracking their status and coordinating necessary documents with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare compelling presentations and materials for leadership reviews, distilling complex project information into clear, actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor construction progress closely and proactively flag potential delays or risks, implementing solutions before they escalate into significant problems.
  • Coordinate seamless communication across Design, Construction, and Real Estate teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring no detail falls through the cracks.
  • Provide essential administrative support, including managing invoices, scheduling meetings, and assisting with basic budget tracking to maintain financial oversight.

Collaboration and Teamwork
This is a highly cross-functional role where collaboration is paramount. You will regularly partner with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, including:
  • Design Managers
  • Construction Managers
  • Corporate Real Estate professionals
  • Store Operations teams
  • External vendors, including architects and general contractors

What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • 0 to 3 years of experience in project coordination, project support, administrative coordination, retail operations, or design/construction support.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously with a calm and organized approach.
  • Strong organizational skills, backed by a proven system for managing information and tasks, not just good intentions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to different types of teams and audiences.
  • A proactive, self-starter approach; you anticipate needs and follow up without being prompted.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel for tracking and data management.
  • A genuine interest in retail environments, the customer experience, and the significant impact physical stores have on a brand.

Nice to Have Qualifications
  • Any exposure to store development, retail buildouts, facilities, or architecture, including relevant internships.
  • Familiarity with construction drawings or design development processes.
  • Experience tracking permits or approvals for projects.
  • A background in retail operations or visual merchandising.
  • Experience coordinating with landlords, various vendors, or outside consultants.
  • Familiarity with document management systems.
  • Basic familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite for compiling presentation materials.
