The Opportunity!
At Goodwill Industries of Central Florida, as a Store Cashier, you will be expected to provide excellent customer service while operating a cash register. Major duties include ringing up all sales transactions, operating a cash register, and greeting and assisting customers/donors.

A Day in the Life of a Store Cashier!

You will find yourself:
Greeting each customer with a courteous, friendly, and professional attitude.
Providing prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service at all times.
Directing customers to the proper area and providing general information as requested.
Ringing up all sales transactions into the cash register and complete sales.
Ensuring that each customer receives the proper change and correct receipt for purchase.
Following all policies and procedures concerning cash, check, charge card transactions, voids, gift cards, and change Round Up program.
Keeping the register area clean and orderly at all times.
Answering telephone calls promptly using an established etiquette procedure.
Assisting sales floor employees with stocking and recovery.

Physical and Environmental Work Conditions:

Regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
Standing and walking for long periods.
Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).

Education and/or Experience:

Must be 18 years of age or older.
High School education or equivalent is preferred. Previous retail and/or cashiering experience is highly preferred.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills and beginner knowledge of touch screen cash registers.
