Job Title: Thrift Shop Sales Associate
Reports to: Business Manager
Location: Our Lady of Light Catholic Community | Ft Myers, FL
Classification: Hourly/Nonexempt
Overview
The Full-time Thrift Shop Associate assists in the daily operation of the parish thrift shop in support of the mission of Our Lady of Light Catholic Community. This position helps oversee customer service, volunteers, merchandising, donations processing, store organization, and financial procedures while helping maintain a welcoming and productive environment.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily thrift shop operations.
  • Help maintain store policies, procedures, and workflow.
  • Coordinate operational needs with parish staff.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service.
  • Assist with merchandise pricing and sales floor organization.
  • Help create attractive displays and sales promotions.
  • Support resolution of customer concerns.
  • Assist with supervising and supporting volunteers and staff.
  • Help communicate procedures and expectations.
  • Promote teamwork and a positive environment.
  • Assist with register closing and cash handling procedures.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized store.
  • Coordinate maintenance concerns with facilities staff as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of work-related experience in stocking, logistics, and or/retail.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience operating cash register and credit card machine.
  • Knowledge of how to prepare bank deposits.
  • Understanding of safety in loading and unloading merchandise.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., carry bags, boxes, furniture donations, and merchandise regularly.
  • Ability to maintain balance while utilizing a ladder for merchandise and/or donations
