Job description

The Hostel Shoppe in Stevens Point, WI is seeking a part-time sales associate. We are looking for someone who is outgoing, dependable, driven and has a strong interest in the products we sell. We are one of the largest recumbent bike shops in the nation and help customers from all over the country select the correct recumbent bike or trike for their style of riding and physical needs. We are also a local bike shop that specializes in helping our customers pick out the right bicycle and product for the activity they are involved in.

 RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE:

•        Selling bicycles, recumbent bicycles, cycling parts & accessories, and winter clothing

•        Assist with maintaining the sales floor

•        Answering the phone and taking phone orders

•        25 to 40 hours a week during the spring and summer months when we are the busiest.

•        16 to 24 hours a week during the fall and winter months.

REQUIREMENTS:

•        Consistent and punctual attendance

•        Good communication skills (verbal & written)

•        Previous retail sales experience is helpful

•        Bicycling experience and some bicycle adjustment knowledge is helpful, but not required

•        Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

•        Attention to detail

•        Good reading comprehension skills

•        Strong organizational skills

•        Ability to multi-task

•        Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and be able to be on your feet for prolonged periods of time

•        Most importantly we are looking to hire someone who will be available for at least 2+ years or longer as there is a lot of training involved in working at a store like ours.
