Personal Banker II - Float - Duluth, MN
Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
This position will cover multiple branch locations in the Duluth/Superior markets as needed. (Duluth, Superior, Hermantown, Woodland and Esko)

The Personal Banker II position listens to and understands the needs of both new and existing customers, recommending NBC's financial products and services that best meet those needs. The Personal Banker II is responsible for opening business accounts while also engaging in consumer lending, including HELOCs. This role requires strong sales and communication skills, including identifying prospects, engaging targeted customers, clarifying financial goals, resolving issues, and confidently closing sales.
Personal Bankers at NBC are active members of the communities we serve and collaborate across all areas of the bank, including the teller line. This position supports the bank's growth by meeting sales goals, building new relationships, and deepening existing ones while demonstrating genuine care for each customer's financial wellbeing.
Most responsibilities involve developing business inside and outside the branch, partnering with commercial lending and treasury management teams, and expanding financial expertise. The Personal Banker II also ensures full compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Qualified candidates will have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education preferred
  • At least two years of retail sales experience or comparable financial services experience; prior Teller I experience preferred
  • Proven career growth demonstrating initiative, professionalism, and sales success
  • Willingness to complete additional training as needed, including in-house programs, seminars, or relevant coursework
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to make a positive first impression, connect with customers, and maintain a friendly, courteous demeanor
  • Availability to work retail hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Ability to initiate sales conversations and remain resilient when facing rejection
  • Strong time-management, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Reliable transportation
  • NMLS certification required to service HELOCs; candidates without prior licensing must meet all licensing requirements (including background check and fingerprinting)

The pay range for this position is $20.00 to $30.00 per hour, contingent on relevant skills, training, experience, education and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for performance-based incentive compensation.
