Job Title: Personal Banker

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

American National Bank of Minnesota is seeking a customer-centric Personal Banker to join our St. Cloud team. In this role, you will be the face of our branch, handling everything from daily transaction processing to high-level treasury management support and consumer lending. You will play a vital role in building lasting relationships with our retail neighbors and large commercial clients alike.

Core Responsibilities

1. New Accounts & Relationship Management

  • Open and maintain retail and commercial deposit accounts using the Fiserv core system.
  • Recommend appropriate products and services.
  • Resolve customer inquiries, errors, and account discrepancies efficiently and politely.

2. Commercial Customer Support

  • Act as a key point of contact for large commercial clients utilizing cash management tools.
  • Consult with commercial clients to identify needs and introduce business services such as ACH and Remote Deposit Capture (RDC).

3. Teller Functions

  • Process routine transactions (deposits, withdrawals, loan payments) accurately utilizing Fiserv teller modules.
  • Accurately handle and maintain an individual teller drawer within established cash limits.
  • Balance cash drawer daily and adhere strictly to all internal audit and security procedures.

4. Consumer Lending

  • Identify consumer loan opportunities (auto, personal, home equity) through daily customer interactions.
  • Interview applicants, collect financial data, and assist in navigating the loan application process.
  • Route completed applications to underwriting and follow up to ensure a smooth closing process.

5. Compliance & Security

  • Maintain strict adherence to all banking regulations (BSA, AML, KYC, Reg CC, Reg E, etc.).
  • Complete all mandatory annual compliance training.
  • Protect customer confidentiality and secure bank assets at all times.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 2+ years of retail banking experience, preferably within a community bank setting.
  • Skills: Demonstrated experience managing a cash drawer and opening complex new accounts.
  • Lending Knowledge: Basic understanding of consumer credit and lending processes.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong professional demeanor.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
