The Institute for International Economic Policy serves as a catalyst for high-quality, nonpartisan, multidisciplinary research on policy issues surrounding the global economy. The Institute advances GW's engagement in the global economic arena through research, events, conferences, and external partnerships, including deep ties with the World Bank. IIEP also supports student professional development through paid research assistantships, staff positions, fellowships, and networking opportunities.
Position Specific Summary
The Events and Operations Assistant provides essential day-to-day support to IIEP's small and fast-paced team, helping ensure that our office runs smoothly and our events are executed to the highest standard. Assistants work as part of a close-knit events and operations team, supporting everything from logistics and setup to speaker coordination and communications. Most assistants stay with IIEP for multiple semesters, gaining valuable experience and exposure to a wide network of policy professionals, faculty, and visiting speakers along the way.
Standard Position Description
The student will perform basic administrative and logistical tasks supporting events. Tasks may include: event registration and check in, guest/patron services, scheduling of events, assisting with event set up and take down, participate in the creation and/or distribution of event materials. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.

This is an entry level position, little to no experience required, all training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
