Crew Leader-Retail

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Crew Leader is responsible for greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and courteous manner while providing excellent customer service. The Crew Leader will supervise store staff and its operations when the Retail Store Manager is not present. The Crew Leader is expected to be professional while upholding the core Goodwill values of -Empowerment, Public Trust, Respect, Innovation, Quality, and Safety.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Responsible for helping customers by providing information, answering questions, obtaining merchandise requested, completing payment transactions, preparing merchandise for delivery, and processing customer inquiries, and complaints in a courteous manner
Attract customers by originating display ideas; following display suggestions or schedules; constructing or assembling prefabricated display properties; producing merchandise displays in windows and showcases, and on the sales floor while maintaining production levels as assigned by the supervisor to achieve store goals
Maintain acceptable attendance, personal hygiene, and dress code standards including wearing company-issued name badges. Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
Open and/or close store, make change at the bank, perform nightly bank deposits
Submit reports promptly to the manager and Corporate Office
Participate in continuous professional development training
Train staff on customer service, donation and production procedures, and cash register
Participate in the hiring and onboarding process
Serve as a mentor for staff and help to create a positive, inclusive work environment
Manage the store sales team to ensure customers are being helped in a timely fashion
Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
Embrace the core values of the agency in the spirit in which the agency operates at work and in the community
Adheres to all agency policies and procedures complying with all department and agency policies, procedures, and regulations
Actively promote diversity and inclusion and ensure a supportive, welcoming work environment for everyone
Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
Ability to multi-task, while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business
Ability to work well with others in a respectful and collaborative work manner
Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively
Ability to perform basic math skills
Flexible work schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma (or equivalent) and one year of retail experience OR four (4) years of retail experience
Valid Driver License, clean driving record, and carry minimum liability coverage as required by the State of Texas
Pass pre-employment criminal background check and Drug/Alcohol screen

PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

Able to work in hot/cold, humid, and/or dusty environments
Able to frequently bend, stoop, push, pull and stand for extended periods
Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. or more with 2-person assistance
Must have adequate vision to perform duties
