Job description

Title: Retail Associate I, II, III

Location: Kotzebue, AK

Status: Full Time and Part Time positions available


Position Summary:

KIC Logistics is looking to hire Retail Associates I, II and III.

The Retail Associate is the first point of contact for customers and the general public. This person must have a commitment to maximizing customer satisfaction with efficient services, all while ensuring that each customer is satisfied with their services and product received. Must present a friendly and professional image of the company through face to face and telephonic interaction.

Maintain outstanding customer service, generate sales, support store management team, all while infusing the traditional values of the Inupiat people, which include adaptability, honesty, hard work, cooperation, integrity and a commitment to quality into the work place.


Duties/Responsibilities:

Retail Associate I

  • Accurately operate computer based P.O.S. system
  • Price, order, and stock merchandise
  • Maintain cleanliness, order, and safety of the store and workplace
  • Collaboratively work as a productive team member to increase the sales and profits of KICL
  • Assist with seasonal inventory control
  • Assure back stock inventory is properly labeled and stored
  • Attend trainings as assigned by management
  • Demonstrative loss prevention awareness
  • Other duties as assigned

Retail Associate II

  • Include all duties of Retail Associate I
  • 12+ months of retail experience
  • Trains new employees as needed
  • Assist with car rental duties, including pick up / drop off and detailing
  • Opening / closing store as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Retail Associate III

  • Include all duties of Retail Associate I / II
  • 18+ months of retail experience or equivalent
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

Retail Associate I

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Use of computer programs and ability to learn KICL specific store systems
  • Use of credit card transaction systems or retail experience preferred
  • Ability to safely lift 45lbs
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to productively work with a team

Retail Associate II

  • Includes all requirements of Retail Associate I
  • 12+ months experience of retail computer systems and card transaction machines
  • Driver's license or able to obtain within 6 months of hire

Retail Associate III

  • Includes all requirements of Retail Associate II
  • 18+ months experience of retail computer systems and card transaction machines
  • Driver's license or able to obtain within 6 months of hire

This is a fast paced multi-tasking environment requiring regular attendance of a 40 hour work week. Work may require occasional overtime.

  • Must be able to stand for prolonged amounts of time in front of a computer to operate point of sale system
  • Must lift, grasp, scan items for point of sale system
  • May lift up to 25lbs
  • Entering text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a keyboard
  • Holding and grasping to review paper documents and to file documents in filing cabinets
  • May bend or stoop to retrieve inventory to place in aisle
  • Ability to communicate orally and/or via email
