Job description

Director of Operations — Winnipeg, MB

Executive Search | Lambert Nemec Group

The Opportunity

This one doesn't come up often.

A highly profitable, privately held organization in Winnipeg is looking for a Director of Operations to serve as the President's true right hand. A sharp, high-energy operator who thrives on ownership, pace, and impact.

The company runs multiple integrated business lines across a real assets and services platform. It's the kind of business that's built on doing real things. Developing, building, managing, and growing. They've got a strong track record, a stable foundation, and serious ambition for what comes next. What they need now is someone who can help them get there.

If you're the type of leader who gets energy from complexity, moves quickly, and has the horsepower to keep multiple plates spinning without dropping any, read on.

What You'll Own

This is a genuine second-in-command role. You won't be a glorified scheduler or a meeting coordinator. You'll be the person the President leans on to keep the engine running and the needle moving.

Specifically, you will:

  • Partner directly with the President to drive execution across all business lines
  • Align teams, remove bottlenecks, and push projects from planning to delivery
  • Lead and develop people while building accountability, culture, and performance
  • Identify and build the systems, processes, and structures that scale with the business
  • Take ownership of key strategic initiatives so senior leadership can focus on growth
  • Navigate complexity, make decisions with conviction, and keep things moving

Who You Are

You've got 10+ years of progressive operations or business leadership experience, and you've done the hard work, not just managed the people who did.

You think commercially. You're at home in fast-moving, project-driven, or asset-intensive environments. You don't need a fully paved path; in fact, you'd find that boring. You're the kind of leader people follow because you earn it, not because it's on your org chart.

Experience in real estate, construction, or related industries is a genuine asset here, though we're open to high-performers from adjacent sectors who can show they've done this kind of work before.

What's In It For You

  • Base salary: $175,000 – $250,000, commensurate with experience
  • Exceptional performance bonus 20-50% of base salary
  • Full health and dental benefits
  • Employer-matched retirement savings
  • Vehicle allowance, cell phone, and executive-level perks
  • A seat at the table in a stable, growing, profitable business
  • Real opportunity to grow into broader senior leadership

To Apply

Submit your resume in Word format in confidence to Dan Lambert at mail@lambertnemec.com, quoting Director of Operations in the subject line. You can also apply via LinkedIn, Indeed, or directly at www.lambertnemec.com.

Suitable candidates will be contacted for a confidential conversation. All applications handled with complete discretion.
