Job description

This position is with Department of Labor, Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), Directorate of Technical Support. The incumbent serves as a supervisory management analysis officer.
Technical Support provides engineering, scientific and technical expertise to MSHA's Enforcement, Education and Training, Standards, Regulations and Variances, and Assessments program areas and the mining industries and mine operations.

Qualifications:

You must meet the Specialized Experience to qualify for the Supervisory Management Analysis Officer position, as described below.
To qualify for this position, your application and resume must clearly show that you possess the experience and/or education requirements as defined below. If qualifying based on experience, be sure these types of examples are evident in your resume.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
GS-14: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-13 in the Federal Service.
Examples of specialized experience include the following:

  • Advising on program requirements and developing and implementing evaluative measures to assess the effectiveness of administrative and management program activities.
  • Participating in significant management planning, policy-making, and decision-making activities to accomplish Agency goals.
  • Managing staff and planning work to be accomplished by subordinates.
  • Generating and manipulating data, and preparing complex reports, briefings, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Providing oversight and financial management of an operating program budget of an agency, organization, or department within a large organization.
Education:

There is no substitution of education for the required specialized experience for this position at the GS-14 grade level.
