Job description

Serves as a front-line manager, directing the work of subordinate technical employees and advising higher management levels on matters pertaining to assigned programs.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this position at the FV-J (GS/FG-14) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I (GS/FG-13) level. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized Experience includes:

  • Experience serving as a technical expert in Instrument Flight Procedures (IFP), providing authoritative guidance and recommendations on complex aeronautical information, instrument procedure development, or related aviation programs;
  • Experience leading or coordinating complex technical projects or program initiatives involving multiple stakeholders;
  • Experience analyzing complex technical issues, evaluating alternatives, and developing recommendations that influence operational decisions, program improvements, or organizational objectives;
  • Experience communicating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including technical specialists, management officials, customers, or industry partners to resolve complex issues and accomplish mission requirements; and
  • Experience planning, prioritizing, and coordinating workload while providing technical guidance or mentoring lower-level employees, peers, or project teams.
