Job description

Position Title: Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring Associate
Salary Range: $255,000-$330,000 / annually, DOE
Step into a sophisticated restructuring practice where the matters are high-profile, the work is substantive, and associates are given the opportunity to make an impact. The Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring Associate will work on complex Chapter 11 proceedings, corporate restructurings, workouts and insolvency-related litigation, representing debtors, creditors and official committees across challenging, high-stakes engagements. The ideal candidate is a driven and highly skilled restructuring attorney who combines strong bankruptcy court experience with exceptional writing, advocacy and client-management skills and wants to build a long-term career with a clear path toward partnership.
Responsibilities
  • Represent debtors, creditors and official committees of unsecured creditors throughout Chapter 11 proceedings and corporate restructurings
  • Handle sophisticated matters involving reorganizations, out-of-court workouts, liquidations, distressed situations and insolvency-related litigation
  • Draft motions, pleadings, briefs and other substantive bankruptcy court filings
  • Prepare for and participate in court hearings, contested matters and other significant proceedings
  • Manage multiple complex engagements simultaneously while maintaining exceptional responsiveness, accuracy and client service
  • Collaborate with partners, associates and multidisciplinary teams across offices on high-visibility matters
  • Develop trusted client relationships while providing strategic guidance through complex financial and legal challenges

Requirements
  • J.D. from an accredited law school with 3-5 years of significant bankruptcy and corporate restructuring experience
  • Substantial Chapter 11 experience representing debtors, creditors and/or official committees of unsecured creditors
  • Strong bankruptcy court experience including drafting and arguing motions, participating in hearings and managing contested matters
  • Admission to the applicable state bar or active progress toward admission in the jurisdiction of the primary office
  • Experience within a sophisticated large-law-firm environment, including Am Law 200 firms
  • Strong academic credentials paired with exceptional legal research, writing, analytical and advocacy skills
  • Ability to take ownership of sophisticated matters, manage competing priorities and work effectively within a highly collaborative team
