Familiarity with industry tools like moisture meters, dehumidifiers, and restoration management software is essential. Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills help build trust and ensure efficient project completion. These abilities are vital for delivering high-quality restoration work, maintaining safety, and meeting client needs during stressful situations.

How to get into a restoration company as a career?

To pursue a career in a restoration company, start by gaining relevant skills such as water, fire, or mold damage mitigation, often through on-the-job training or technical programs. Certifications like IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) can improve job prospects, and entry-level roles typically require a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience with tools and safety procedures is valuable for advancement in this field.

What are some common challenges faced by technicians working in a restoration company, and how can they be addressed?

Technicians in restoration companies often encounter unpredictable schedules due to emergency calls, as disasters like floods, fires, or mold outbreaks can happen at any time. They must also adapt to working in diverse and sometimes hazardous environments, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and the use of specialized equipment. Teamwork is essential, as projects typically involve close coordination with supervisors, other technicians, and sometimes clients or insurance adjusters. Building resilience, maintaining clear communication, and prioritizing safety can help address these challenges and contribute to successful project outcomes.

What does a restoration company do?

A restoration company specializes in repairing and restoring properties that have been damaged by events such as water, fire, mold, or storms. These companies assess the extent of the damage, remove hazardous materials, and use specialized equipment to clean and restore the affected areas. Their goal is to return homes or businesses to their original condition as quickly and safely as possible. Restoration companies often work closely with insurance providers to help clients navigate the claims process.

Locally Owned. Nationally Recognized. Growing Rapidly.

Rainbow Restoration is seeking an energetic, relationship-focused Business Development Representative to help expand our presence throughout Southeast Michigan.

This is not a desk job, and it is not a high-pressure sales position.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, building professional relationships, networking in the community, and creating opportunities for a growing company that makes a real difference in people’s lives.

When disaster strikes, homeowners and businesses turn to Rainbow Restoration for help recovering from water damage, fire damage, mold remediation, biohazard cleanup, contents restoration, and reconstruction services. Our team helps customers navigate some of the most stressful situations they will ever face, and we take pride in restoring not only properties, but peace of mind.

As a Business Development Representative, you’ll be the face of Rainbow Restoration in the marketplace, building relationships with plumbers, insurance professionals, insurance agents, adjusters, property managers, facility managers, contractors, municipalities, and other referral partners throughout Southeast Michigan.

What You’ll Do

·        Build and maintain relationships with referral partners and strategic business contacts

·        Develop and execute sales and territory growth plans

·        Conduct in-person visits and presentations to prospective referral sources

·        Attend networking events, trade associations, community functions, and industry meetings

·        Create and maintain sales routes and CRM records

·        Follow up with existing referral partners to strengthen relationships and generate repeat opportunities

·        Collaborate with operations and marketing teams to ensure an exceptional customer experience

·        Track activities, opportunities, and results through regular reporting

·        Meet and exceed business development goals

What We’re Looking For

·        Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

·        Professional communication and presentation abilities

·        Self-motivated with strong organizational skills

·        Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

·        Sales, marketing, business development, customer service, account management, or relationship management experience preferred

·        Experience in restoration, construction, insurance, property management, or home services is a plus

·        CRM experience preferred

·        Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 annually

Additional Earnings: Competitive commission plan with uncapped earning potential. High performers have the opportunity to significantly increase their compensation through relationship development and business growth.

Benefits Include:

·        Medical insurance

·        Dental insurance

·        Vision insurance

·        15 days of paid time off annually to start

·        9 paid holidays

·        Retirement plan with company matching contributions

·        Ongoing professional development and training

·        Career advancement opportunities within a growing organization
