Responsibilities
- Perform basic and critical respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients per physician orders and department policies.
- Provide respiratory therapy with appropriate supervision as delegated and as required by patient needs.
- Administer therapies including oxygen, inhaled medications, airway clearance techniques, and ventilator support as ordered.
- Monitor patient response, adjust therapies within policy, and communicate changes to the care team.
- Complete documentation in electronic medical records, flow sheets, and charge entries for each patient.
Requirements
- Active Respiratory Therapist license to practice in California.
- Certification as Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or equivalent credential.
- Degree in Respiratory Therapy (associate or bachelor’s) or as otherwise required by state guidelines.
- Relevant hospital-based experience working with adult and geriatric patients.
- Ability to perform duties with limited supervision and to document care accurately in electronic medical records.
