Job description

he Insulation Installer will remove, repair, and install various types of insulation, including fiberglass batt and blown-in insulation, in residential attics, crawlspaces, and other designated work areas.

This is a physically demanding, labor-intensive position. Candidates must have the physical fitness, strength, stamina, and mobility necessary to perform construction-related work throughout the workday. Applicants must be comfortable working in confined spaces, at varying heights, and in hot, cold, dusty, or otherwise challenging environments.

This position also requires the ability and willingness to learn how to safely operate a 16-foot box truck.

Zhe Industries provides comprehensive training through online educational courses, training modules, and hands-on field instruction. The company will pay for all approved education and coursework related to insulation removal, installation, replacement, and workplace safety.

Employees who successfully complete the required training modules and demonstrate proficiency during on-the-job training will be eligible for a pay increase within their first 60 days of employment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Remove existing insulation from attics and crawlspaces
  • Install fiberglass batt and blown-in insulation
  • Repair or replace damaged insulation
  • Carry, lift, load, unload, and move insulation materials, tools, and equipment
  • Climb ladders and work while standing, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, and lifting for extended periods
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas
  • Properly use company tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment
  • Complete all required online training and educational courses
  • Learn to safely inspect and operate a 16-foot box truck
  • Follow all company safety procedures and installation standards
  • Participate in the company’s respiratory-protection program
  • Complete a required medical evaluation and respirator fit test before using required respiratory-protection equipment
  • Properly wear, inspect, maintain, and store assigned respiratory-protection equipment

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be physically capable of performing labor-related duties in attics, crawlspaces, and other construction environments. The position requires sufficient strength, endurance, balance, and flexibility to lift and carry materials, climb ladders, operate equipment, and repeatedly bend, kneel, crawl, squat, reach, push, and pull throughout the workday, with or without reasonable accommodation.
