Resort Review information

What is a resort review?

A Resort Review job involves visiting resorts to evaluate their amenities, services, cleanliness, and overall guest experience. Reviewers provide detailed feedback through written reports, ratings, or articles, which may be used by travel companies, blogs, or hospitality businesses. This role often requires strong observational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide objective, constructive feedback. Some positions may be freelance, while others are part of travel agencies or hospitality companies.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of a resort reviewer?

As a Resort Reviewer, your daily tasks often include visiting assigned resorts, assessing amenities and services, documenting your experiences with notes, photographs, or videos, and writing detailed, unbiased reviews for publication. You may also interact with resort staff and guests to gather additional insights, and occasionally attend local events or activities to broaden your perspective. Collaboration with editors and other reviewers is common to ensure content quality and consistency. This role requires a blend of on-site evaluation, remote writing, and ongoing communication with your team. Managing deadlines and keeping up with industry trends are also key parts of the job.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the resort review position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Resort Reviewer, you need excellent written communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a strong understanding of hospitality standards, often supported by experience in travel writing or reviewing. Familiarity with online publishing platforms, content management systems, and photography or videography equipment is typically necessary. Adaptability, critical thinking, and an ability to objectively evaluate experiences are important soft skills in this role. These abilities ensure comprehensive, trustworthy reviews that assist both resort management and potential guests in making informed decisions.
