POSITION SUMMARY:

Setup Technician: Requires complete understanding of Resolve Surgical operation, policy and procedures. Setup operators are professionals who have developed excellent skills in key areas and has shown leadership capabilities and superior results in, quality and productivity. The position requires hands on experience and proficiency of EXALTA's most complicated processes and is critical in helping EXALTA maximize the number of patients served while maintaining a high level of quality and safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Complete complex machine set-ups
  • Responsible for coordination and/or completion of all setup activities while meeting production schedules
  • Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools (lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders)
  • Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machines tools used to perform precision machining operations
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines
  • Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
  • Maintain machine tools in proper operational efficiency
  • Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated or cooled
  • Assist Engineers with Design Transfer Process, as needed and collaborate to continuously reduce non-value-added activities during setups.
  • Perform first piece quality checks to ensure product conformity prior to release to production Operators
  • Post-production setup data using SAP system software and additional operational systems
  • Maintain machine to appropriate manufacturer recommendations to ensure safe machine operations (i.e. lubrication levels, scrap material removal)
  • Able to train and assist CNC operators at all levels, as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with EXALTA's safety protocols and OSHA requirements.
  • Train, mentor, and coach operators at all levels and assist in training Set-Up Technicians

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:  
  • CNC Machining Certificate or associate’s degree in related field required or equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a certificate/degree
  • 5+ years of CNC experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in the production environment highly preferred
  • Experience and proficiency in setting up multiple machines and machine types


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

Technical Competencies

  • Fundamental knowledge and understanding of manufacturing practices / processes
  • Intermediate Machine Tools: Proficiency with required tools (CNC machine tools, power grinders, milling cutters, drill presses, lathes, calipers, tool dies, hammer, screwdriver, allen wrench, etc).
  • Basic Computer-Aided Manufacturing: Proficiency with computer-assisted design programs (CAD, CAM) and process/machines (5-axis machining, CNC machines, mills, and lathes)
  • Intermediate Mathematics (Competency in manipulating numbers, quantities, shapes, and spaces).
  • Intermediate Machinery: Ability to safely and appropriately operate, demonstrate, clean, ad lubricate machines.
  • Basic Manufacturing Processes: Understanding of basic Six Sigma processes, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing principles
  • Basic Equipment Maintenance/Repair: Assist in troubleshooting repairs and activities with equipment assembly, maintenance, efficiency, repair, cleaning, installation, and inspection
