Job Summary:
A House Officer's responsibilities include patient care activities within the scope of their clinical privileges commensurate with the level of training, attendance at clinical rounds and seminars, timely completion of medical records, and other responsibilities as assigned or as required of all members of the medical staff.
Education & Experience
Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or other acceptable final medical diploma, such as an MBBS.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration required: Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or other acceptable final medical diploma, such as an MBBS.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participates in the clinical evaluation and care of patients in a variety of patient care settings in order to achieve the competencies required by the residency program.
  • Communicates with the attending provider regarding the results of evaluations, physical examinations, interpretation of diagnostic tests, and intended/performed interventions.
  • Participates in research programs and educational presentations as required by residency program.
  • Works effectively in various health care delivery settings and systems relevant to clinical specialty.

Physical and Environmental Demands
Requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, occasional handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, frequent working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional travelling to offsite locations, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, occasional work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, frequent bending, occasional lifting and carrying more than 100 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crawling, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional driving, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, occasional reaching, occasional sitting, occasional standing, frequent twisting, and constant walking. (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more)
