Key Components:

  • This research assistant position supports a funded interdisciplinary pilot study examining how U.S. military veterans use large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT and Claude for health information seeking and therapeutic communication. The project is a collaboration among faculty in the Departments of Communication, Public Health, and English at Baylor University.
     

Job Description:

  • Duties and Responsibilities
    Research assistants will contribute to multiple phases of the project, including participant recruitment, data collection, and analysis. Specific responsibilities include outreach and correspondence with veteran-serving organizations in the Waco and Central Texas region, scheduling and coordinating participant interviews, conducting literature and database research in support of the project team, and general research administration. Students with prior experience in qualitative methods may have the opportunity to participate in coding and analysis of interview data under faculty supervision.

  • Applicants should be currently enrolled graduate or undergraduate students at Baylor University. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Prior experience in research settings, community outreach, or work with veteran or military-connected populations is a plus but not required.
