Position Summary:
The Software Development Engineer (AI Platform) participates in the full development cycle of the companyโ€™s AI-powered software products. Working full-stack across frontend, backend, and APIs, the engineer builds and modernizes the platforms and services that power intelligent document processing and AI-driven clinical review โ€” resolving production issues, delivering new features, and exposing reusable services for other teams to build on.
 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in the full software development cycle โ€” design, build, test, release, and maintain production software across frontend, backend, and APIs.
  • Respond rapidly to production issues and bugs, troubleshooting and resolving them to sustain reliability and meet performance and error-rate targets.
  • Modernize and evolve the companyโ€™s AI platforms and processing services, keeping architecture, frameworks, and dependencies current.
  • Develop and improve core AI capabilities such as document processing, retrieval, and prompt execution, including tooling to measure and ensure quality.
  • Design and build APIs and modular, reusable services that other teams and applications can consume.
  • Build configuration and administrative interfaces that let clinical and operations stakeholders manage business rules, mappings, and AI prompt workflows directly.
  • Create clear reporting and dashboards on system, data, and operational health.
  • Manage code releases and partner with DevOps on CI/CD and deployment improvements.
  • Write clear technical and end-user documentation.
  • Respect and maintain HIPAA confidentiality guidelines; follow company policies and participate in annual performance reviews.
  • Other duties as directed.

Education, Experience and Licensure:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or Engineering is preferred.  
  • Ability to foster a cohesive working environment. 

 
Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Basic understanding of object-oriented programming design and analysis.
  • Software Development & Web Application Development understanding in general, Client-Server Architecture knowledge.
  • Proactive self-taught individual, ability to research and find answers.
  • Willingness to learn about cross cutting concerns and new technologies and able to adapt quickly to rising challenges.
  • Fair understanding of SDLC Self-starter.
  • Basic knowledge on software development methodologies.
  • Strong problem solving and excellent oral and written communication skills; Attention to detail and emphasis on quality and accuracy; Strong organizational skills; commitment to customer service.
  • Must be able to foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Experience with the following software technologies: Python (backend), Next.js and TypeScript (frontend).
  • Experience designing and integrating REST APIs, working with databases, and deploying to the cloud (Microsoft Azure preferred), using Git and CI/CD.
  • Preferred: Building AI/LLM-powered application features, including prompt engineering and evaluation.
  • Preferred: Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and semantic / vector search (e.g., Azure AI Search).
  • Preferred: LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph (or LangChain / Semantic Kernel).
  • Preferred: Document extraction and processing (e.g., Azure AI Document Intelligence).
  • Preferred: Embeddings, chunking strategies, and quality evaluation of AI outputs; exposure to Azure OpenAI and MLOps/LLMOps practices.
