Overview
BerryDunn is seeking an Medicaid H.R. 1 Lead to provide workstream leadership, stakeholder coordination, and strategic oversight for H.R. 1 system and operational enhancement initiatives. This role will support the planning, execution, and implementation of project activities across multiple workstreams, helping ensure project objectives are clearly defined, coordinated, and delivered effectively.
In this role, the Medicaid H.R. 1 Lead will serve as the primary point of coordination between Hawai'i Med-QUEST, BerryDunn, and key project stakeholders for H.R. 1-related initiatives. The position will drive project alignment and execution, facilitate communication across client and project teams, monitor progress against project objectives, and proactively manage risks and issues. Working closely with project leadership, subject matter experts, vendors, and operational stakeholders, this position will help ensure alignment across initiatives while supporting successful delivery of project outcomes.
Travel expectations: This role may require travel up to 25% of the year.
You Will
  • Research Medicaid policies and regulations related to H.R. 1 and translate policy, program, and operational needs into system requirements and implementation activities.
  • Lead and coordinate workstream activities, including schedules, deliverables, resources, risks, issues, and overall project performance.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Hawai'i Med-QUEST, BerryDunn, project teams, vendors, and external stakeholders for H.R. 1-related initiatives and implementations.
  • Own Jira tracking and status reporting for H.R. 1-related activities, including action items, meeting cards, priorities, due dates, risks, blockers, owners, and deliverable alignment.
  • Coordinate recurring workstream meetings, client/vendor touchpoints, leadership alignment discussions, follow-up items, and cross-workstream dependencies.
  • Review workstream materials, meeting notes, client-facing artifacts, SOPs, templates, trackers, and process documentation for quality, consistency, completeness, and readiness.
  • Proactively surface risks, blockers, decisions, and dependencies and coordinate with project leadership, workstream leads, client, vendors, and stakeholders to support timely resolution.
  • Serve as a senior systems advisor with a strong understanding of system implementations, Medicaid claims, and operational impacts.
  • Provide clear, consistent communication, status updates, and strategic guidance to clients, vendors, leadership, and project stakeholders.

You Have
  • Experience conducting policy research and translating findings into policy directives, system requirement development, and operational guidance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, facilitation, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance/control procedures and proactive problem management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting and coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience using Jira or similar project management tools to track action items, status, ownership, deadlines, risks, and deliverables.
  • Experience coordinating recurring meetings, documenting follow-up items, and maintaining alignment across workstreams.
  • Experience reviewing project documentation, meeting notes, client-facing materials, SOPs, templates, or process documents for quality and completeness.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft applications and artificial intelligence tools.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
  • Prior consulting experience in a national or regional consulting firm, experience working in/with a state Medicaid agency, and/or prior employment with a software vendor contracted with a state Medicaid agency.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years in a comparable project management, program management, or consulting role.
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS)-May substitute four years of applicable experience for degree.
  • Experience supporting healthcare, government, public sector, or Medicaid initiatives preferred.
  • Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
  • Experience leading project teams and coordinating with clients, vendors, and leadership.
  • Experience managing project schedules, risks, issues, and deliverables.

Compensation Details
The base salary range targeted for this role is $95,000 - $125,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
