Job Summary:

Boston University is seeking a Business Analyst for their Research Compliance Department. The role involves providing systems maintenance and support, acting as a liaison between departments, and facilitating training for staff and system users.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide systems maintenance, troubleshooting, work-arounds, and staff support for the Research Compliance Department.
  2. Act as a liaison between the Research Compliance Department, other BU units (including IS&T, EHS), and system vendors.
  3. Support all systems used by Research Compliance, old and new.
  4. Create and test scripts provided by vendors for system updates/upgrades.
  5. Provide training and support for Research Compliance staff and system users (research staff, Committee members).

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in lieu of education.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively, both independently and in a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management tools (e.g., Smartsheets, Slack, Trello), G-Suite, cloud storage (Dropbox, OneDrive), WordPress, and LMS content creation tools.
  • Stakeholder empathy, creative thinking, and experience in process improvement planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Research Administration and/or Research Compliance.
