R&D AND DESIGN COORDINATOR

Grand Specialty is looking for a creative, technically minded, and hands-on R&D and Design Coordinator to join our team. This is an opportunity for someone with experience in 3D CAD design, 3D modeling, 3D printing, prototyping, and fabrication who enjoys taking an idea and figuring out how to turn it into something real.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation and practical problem-solving skills, with experience in areas such as CAD design, 3D printing, CNC machining, prototype development, thermoforming, mold making, resin casting, product design, mechanical design, or other hands-on manufacturing and fabrication processes. Experience in every area is not required. We are interested in people who have developed strong skills in several of these areas and are excited to learn the rest.
This is not a typical design position where projects simply move from a computer screen to someone else for production. You will have the opportunity to design, build, test, modify, experiment, and solve problems along the way. Projects may range from developing prototypes and creating 3D models to researching materials, exploring new processes, improving existing designs, and helping turn customer or company ideas into practical solutions.
We are looking for someone who is curious, creative, resourceful, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with both computers and their hands. You should be able to manage multiple projects, communicate effectively with others, learn new equipment and technologies, and stay engaged when a project doesn't have an obvious answer. Most importantly, you should enjoy figuring things out.
