What You Can Expect Working in the Business Development Intern Position


The Business Development Intern  supports the Market Development and the Sales team by assisting with research  of markets and potential customers, lead generation, CRM (Customer Relations Management) data, AI tool  development, and follow-up activities that help build the sales funnel.  Working alongside the Market Development team and regional sales teams, the  intern will gain hands-on experience in business development, B2B process sales,  customer relationship management, and market analysis while contributing to  active sales initiatives. Learning company culture and business segments by  participating in weekly internship activities and applying those learnings  within the scope of their responsibilities.  


Responsibilities 

· Learns the company’s products and capabilities  and helps communicate relevant information to prospective customers.

· Research potential clients, industries,  projects, and market segments to support lead generation and prospecting  efforts using IIR (Industrial Information Research), Linked In & Sales  Navigator, and company provided AI tools. 

· Learns, prepares and analyses prospect lists,  market development reports, sales funnel reports, and project or industry  summaries used by market development and sales teams.

· Assists with outbound outreach through phone,  email, LinkedIn, and other communication channels under the guidance of the Market  Development team. 

· Learns to create sequences within the CRM to manage  workflow. 

· Enters and updates prospect information,  interaction notes, and follow-up tasks in the CRM system to help maintain  accurate sales records.

· Learn how to cross-market for the other  divisions of Lange including: Site Box Storage, Armoda, CoverSix, and  Diversified Structures.

· Support the coordination of appointments and  qualified leads by working closely with regional sales team members.

· Assists with follow-up communication and  distribution of marketing materials to prospective customers.

· Participates in sales and market development  meetings and supports special projects related to new markets, products, and  business development initiatives. 

· Participate in one or more WIBA - Wichita Independent  Association Events. 

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications 


· Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor’s  degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Communications, or a related field.

· Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel,  Outlook).

· Ability to use or quickly learn CRM systems and  lead-generation tools such as LinkedIn, company approved and provided AI  tools. 

· Strong verbal, written, listening,  organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks, pay attention  to detail, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications 


· Previous internship, work, customer service, or  sales experience.

· Coursework or exposure related to B2B sales,  marketing, market research, or data analysis. 

· Interest in learning about industries served by  the company, including oil & gas, petrochemical,  government, modular building, and other  developing markets and the use of blast resistant buildings and other safe modular  solutions.
