Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated wireless engineering intern to design, simulate, and prototype novel solutions. The role will involve simulation development, participation in collaborative R&D projects, active creation of intellectual property, and dissemination in scientific and industry forums and consortia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out cutting-edge research at the intersection of physical layer and AI/ML for next generation mobile communications systems
  • Research, analyze and evaluate cellular systems and develop designs using
    • Theoretical and mathematical analysis
    • Link-level simulations
    • System-level simulations
  • Design and develop MATLAB/Python based link-level, or system-level simulations for 6G and beyond
  • Investigate, survey literature, and present summaries on the state-of-the-art
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and/or technical papers surveying state of the art, describing design and development efforts, and presenting evaluation results
  • Drive technology generation and disclosure writing and supporting patent applications and downstream support

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Strong analytical and research skills. Research experience in wireless communications physical layer and AI/ML with a track record of peer-reviewed publications is highly preferred
  • Strong background and experience in wireless communications fundamentals, communication theory, and digital signal processing
  • Successful candidate is expected to have a strong system level and/or link level simulations background with high proficiency in MATLAB or Sionna and source control tools (e.g., GitHub)
  • Solid knowledge of AI/ML techniques and their application to communication systems a plus
  • Familiarity with cellular systems standards (3GPP 4G LTE and 5G) is preferred
