What is the opportunity?

As Relationship Management Associate, Corporate Client Group ("CCG"), you will reportto the Managing Director. You will work directly with our senior team members and support them in serving current client needs and marketing target companies. RBC CCG is a team of senior coverage officers and credit experts providing a comprehensive range of corporate finance solutions to private mid-market and small cap public Canadian corporations.

What will you do?

  • Support and contribute to idea generation activities through research, analysis of company financial statements as well as industry and market information, and preparation of client presentations

  • Actively research and provide timely updates on current or target clients and prepare material for, and participate in, relationship development activities such as client presentations

  • Prepare and/or manage documentation on new client and revenue opportunities for submission to internal decision-making committees

  • Liaise with internal partners across RBC to ensure the provision of exceptional customer service to the portfolio of clients

  • Prepare material for internal sales conferences or analyze quarterly or annual operational performance data for the group to facilitate strategic decision-making initiatives, on an occasional basis

  • Encouraged to work closely with the CCG Finance team to learn how they structure, deliver, close, and monitor syndicated and bi-lateral loan transactions, as part of the relationship responsibilities within the group

  • Provide analysis and support to CCG Finance colleagues to support internal business case preparation

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word

  • Strong quantitative, financial and analytical skills with an ability to analyze company financial statements

  • Effective presentation and communication skills

  • High level of attention to detail in both written and financial work

  • Ability to perform well under pressure, meet time sensitive deadlines, prioritize work, multi-task responsibilities and devote appropriate attention to each assignment while working on multiple projects

Nice-to-have

  • MBA, CFA or CPA

  • Knowledge of credit and credit metrics

  • Work experience in corporate finance
