A leading research organization is seeking a Research Associate II to support cutting-edge functional genomics projects focused on large-scale, high-throughput DNA cis-regulatory element screening!
Job Title: Research Associate II - Functional Genomics
Location: On-site, South San Francisco, CA
Duration: 6-month contract with potential extension (Benefits included)
Pay rate:
A leading research organization is seeking a Research Technician II to support cutting-edge functional genomics projects focused on large-scale, high-throughput DNA cis-regulatory element screening. This lab-based role involves executing advanced molecular biology and high-content screening experiments and contributing to dataset generation for machine learning applications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex molecular and cellular biology experiments in functional genomics
  • Support massively parallel reporter assay (MPRA) screens across multiple cell types
  • Conduct custom DNA/RNA amplicon preparation and sequencing workflows
  • Execute molecular biology techniques including molecular cloning, qPCR, and flow cytometry
  • Maintain and work with primary cell cultures, with preference for iPSC and/or T cell culture experience
  • Assist in experimental design, data interpretation, and results communication
  • Contribute to development and optimization of genomics screening technologies

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
  • 2-5 years of relevant laboratory experience
  • Strong experimental design and data analysis skills
  • Highly organized, analytical, and self-motivated
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Technical Experience
  • MPRA or other pooled genetic screening approaches
  • Viral vector systems (e.g., lentivirus)
  • NGS library preparation and design
  • Single-cell genomics methods such as scRNA-seq or scMPRA
