Description

The Engineer in this role will be supporting DIA customers in the maintenance, functionality, and sustainment of Zero Trust Environments. This support will include, but is not limited to, working in a DevOps environment to support the research into existing software applications required for integration, the refactoring of existing software applications to enable functionality and access from a cloud-based architecture, and the development of new web-based applications and microservices as requested by the customer. This support, ultimately, is designed to ensure critical software applications are capable of continuing to support success within a secure cloud-based architecture.

    Understanding user requirements and strategizing software solutions
  • Supporting development of applications and capabilities within Zero Trust Environments
  • Updating and refactoring existing/legacy software applications into web-based applications
  • Creating and optimizing in-application SQL statements and back-end access from other application
  • Ensuring performance, security, and availability of databases
  • Profiling server resource usage and optimizing as necessary
  • Participating in code reviews and contributing to architectural decisions

Requirements
  • Must possess an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering, related fields or equivalent experience
  • 7-10 years of professional software development experience
  • Five or more years working with Python
    • Proficiency in Python 3.X
  • Strong experience with at least one python web framework (Django, Flask, FastAPI)
  • Experience with RESTful API design and GraphQL (optional)
  • Experience with Asynchronous programming (asyncio, Celery)
  • Experience with ORM Frameworks (SQLAlchemy)
  • Experience with Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (ES6+)
  • Experience with modern front-end framework (React preferred, Vue.js or Angular accepted)
  • Strong HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design skills
  • Experience with state management
  • Experience with tool building on Weback, Vite, or similar tools
  • Experience with SQL databases (Postgre SQL, SQLITE3)
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (Redis)
  • Experience with microservice deployment
  • Knowledge of message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka)
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks (Pytest, Jest, Selenium)
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Must currently hold a DoDM 8140.03 IAT II certification (SSCP or Security+ CE with appropriate CE/OS certificate) or be able to obtain within six months
